It’s Time to Stop the Silence

A few weeks ago I hoped off Facebook to gain clarity and free myself from the hate that had ensued my daily feed. I also did this as a result of a direct attack against my character.
This is who I am
- God-fearing Christian
- Wife
- Mother
- Daughter
- Sister
- Lover of all races
- Lover of all genders
- A person who respects the law
- A person who listens to all sides
- A person who doesn’t judge anyone
- A person who has come out of her own transgressions
- A person who has made mistakes and learned from them
- A person who wants the best for everyone whos willing to work for it
- I’m a white 40-year-old woman
I was called a racist because I stood up for cops. So I was silenced because of hate speech. Hate from a person I have always been there for. Who I used to call my friend.
The times we are in are dark and hard to navigate. If we say something that is against the left we are criticized and ridiculed. If we say nothing we are criticized and ridiculed.
It’s our freedom to say what we want. The people in the streets all over America are saying whatever they want and I would like to do the same. My opinions may not directly aline with yours and thats OK.
No matter what you race, gender, or age is we are all Americans. Everyone who is born here. Everyone who has gone through the many steps to pass the test and fill out all the paperwork to become a US citizen. We are all AMERICANs.
So what should we do?
State your truth and know that there are people out there that will love you no matter what. If we do stay silent we are only hurting ourselves. We need to stand up to the bullies and let them know they can’t hurt us through hateful words.
We need to know that God is with us and will help us on this journey. He will light our path. He will calm the waters. He will punish all of those that get in the way. He is our rock. He is our staff. He will not leave our sides.
This is what has brought me back. This is what gives me hope. This is what makes my day brighter. This is what gives me a voice.
