We’re Not All the Same

With the world screaming for equal rights and equal liberty, we’re not practicing what we’re screaming.
Equal is well equal. If I as a white Christian woman should love all, not discriminate, accept all, and not judge, I would expect the same from others. I have been called racist, anti-women, anti-LGBTQ, and others. If you really know me enough to sit down and have a face to face conversation with me, you would know that I am non of those things. I truly care for each person no matter your skin color, heritage, sexual orientation, or your past. I take you for who you are today. If you treat me and others kind then I will be your friend. Its that simple.
Recently on social media, I have been scrutinized for supporting Donald J. Trump. At first, I was silenced and I got off of social for a few weeks. I had a lot of time to think and I talked to God about what was going on in the world. I decided that I needed to speak up. Why should I be silenced? Well, I shouldn’t be and I won’t be. I’m not spreading hate or talking bad about other people, I’m just stating my opinion. Heck, most of the hate has come from a picture of Trump 2020. It seems so ridiculous.
Donald J. Trump in some people’s opinion is a liar, cheat, womanizer, and all-around horrible man. I on the other hand think that he used to be a womanizer. I believe that we can learn and change. Really look back on who you used to be….aren’t you a better person? I personally haven’t seen him lie to hurt someone. He has downplayed COVID as to not cause panic and the overwhelming uncertainty from the best doctors in the world couldn’t even give good directions on what we should be doing to stop the spread. He did everything he could before anyone else agreed and now they say he did the worst job. Also, no one states what they would have done differently. Mask mandates have been left up to the states. As for his taxes, I can’t really believe that he only paid 750.00 in taxes. Maybe his personal taxes because all of his business are filed under the business……just doesn’t add up. He has been audited and if there is something to be found they will find it.
Where do we go from here if we can’t even let another person have their own opinion?
I don’t know. I really don’t know.
We should as adults be able to have a civil conversation and move on. Better yet lets not even bring it up if you know someone might get upset.
So many people have said hurtful things behind the curtain of social media. Some of these people don’t even know me. Some who I thought were my friends or people I have personally helped and been there for. You can say what you want but in the end, I will stand firm in my faith and God will lead me. He keeps my tongue calm and my heart warm. I would not want to say or do anything that could truly hurt another soul. I am here to be his messenger, and his messenger I will be.
If you support and associate with racists and homophobes, you will be labeled the same way, no matter how you might claim to be otherwise.
You want to have a civil conversation, but you support a president who has made blatantly hateful, racist, sexist, xenophobic, and misogynistic comments in public without addressing or disclaiming any of it.
What evidence do we have that Trump “used to be” a womanizer? We have plenty of evidence of womanizing behavior, but none that it’s stopped. You’ve simply chosen to believe it has. Would Biden get the benefit of the doubt if he were similarly accused?
Then, when someone does present you with actual proof — $750 in taxes, according to the IRS — you simply choose NOT to believe it.
What’s the point of having a civil conversation with someone who’s clearly cherry-picking her beliefs to fit her political motivations, which seem for all the world to be just as hateful as Trump’s?
Is it any wonder you’re labeled this way?
